The English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga, and the French Ligue 1 have been classified as the top five European leagues in the world due to the competitive nature and the number of talents available in the Leagues.
But among the 5, it is the English Premier League which has been singled out as the most competitive and attractive league in the world.
While the likes of Juventus, Paris Saint Germain, and Bayern Munich have won the league titles for consecutive years, the Premier League has seen several different winners in the past few seasons.
The competitiveness of the English Premier League has again been emphasized this season with a lot of lower sides competing at the highest level with the top teams.
Leeds United back from the Championship after several years wasted no time to announce their presence as they gave an impressive display against Liverpool on opening day.
The third week also saw Leicester City surprisingly thrashing Manchester City 5-2, with Jamie Vardy scoring a hat-trick against Guardiola’s side.
Things even got interesting last weekend as Manchester United were humiliated by 6-1 against an inspired Tottenham Hotspurs side.
The result was a surprising one considering the fact that Manchester United had finished the last campaign on a strong note and was expected to make progress this season.
United’s rivals, Liverpool also had a terrible night as Dean Smith’s side defeated the champions 7-2, with new signing Olie Watkins bagging a hat trick while captain Jack Grealish secured a brace in the match.
It is just four matches into the new English Premier League season, but the excitement is already on and there is no doubt that there will be more to come in the coming weeks to affirm the fact that the English Premier League is the most competitive league in the world.
