Before the opening of this summer’s transfer window, several clubs across the globe like Manchester United and particularly teams in the English Premier League were worried about signing their ideal targets due to the financial impacts that COVID-19 had had on the global economy.

But that worry has been quickly put to bed with several clubs in England making big-name signings. The likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspurs have made big money signings to bolster their current setup in order to challenge for this season’s trophy.

The same cannot be said for Manchester United, unfortunately, who have only been able to sign Donny van de Beek from Manchester United from Ajax.

The club has failed in their bid to sign England International Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund with the club demanding that Manchester United pay a whopping £120m in order to secure the services of the talented winger.

Again, Manchester United has failed to sign a high profile defender to compete with the error-prone Harry Maguire and unimpressive Eric Baily and Victor Lindelof.

RB Leipzig defender, Dayot Upamecano was on the shortlist of transfer targets for the team but they failed to land him while Nathan Ake joined rivals Manchester City instead.

It has been a disappointing transfer window for the Red Devils and with the transfer window shutting in a few hours, Manchester United will have to get the needed results with their current squad.

The team was humiliated by Tottenham last Sunday as a result of an unimpressive display form the team and particularly from captain Harry Maguire and they will have to up their game if the club wants to secure top 4 football this season.
