Eden Hazard left Chelsea last season after enjoying several successful campaigns with the West London club, winning several trophies including two Premier League titles, an FA cup trophy and two Europa League titles.
On an individual level, he was seen as the best player Premier league and was even touted to be among a handful of players who were destined to replace either Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the best player in the world.
But things have just not gone how the player expected. A move from Chelsea saw Hazard fulfilling a childhood dream of playing for Real Madrid and playing under his football idol, Zinedine Zidane at the Santiago Bernabeu. A perfect marriage it was meant to be.
Although Real Madrid were able to secure the La Liga title last season, it will be fair to say that they did so without Eden Hazard, as the Belgium captain spent most of the season on the sidelines. In games in which he was able to feature, he was unable to provide the spark that Real Madrid paid the huge amount of money.
The player himself admitted that he had a bad season in the last campaign and was eager to begin this new term on a strong foot but unfortunately, he has been unable to do so.
Eden Hazard returned to training a little bit overweight with rumors suggesting that the Real Madrid hierarchy had been left furious with the player’s indiscipline in that regard.
As if that was not enough, the player has again sustained another injury which will keep him out of his national team’s games this month. It is also unlikely that he will play a part in Madrid’s games anytime soon.
A statement released by Real Madrid indicated that the player has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in his right leg, making it the fourth injury he has suffered in his over a year stay at the club and his 15th in his entire career.
With such unfortunate incidents happening, it is so easy to rule Hazard out from returning to his best form but there is the possibility of the playmaker doing just that in some months to come.
