Ghanaian songstress, Wendy Shay, has threatened to go after legal action against producers of “Slay”, a Netflix movie for using her song without authorization.
Wendy Shay has taken to her Instagram page to share an excerpt of the movie lamenting that she had no idea that her song “All For You” was used in the movie.
According to her, her management was also not notified before the song was used. In short, Wendy claimed the song was used without prior authorization.
Wendy reminded the producers of the movie that using intellectual property without authorization is a crime. She admonished the producers to do the right thing or meet her in court.
She wrote; “So, I watched this movie last night on Netflix and my song, ‘All for you’ was featured without my consent or that of my management. Producers of the movie ‘Slay’, it is a crime to use someone’s intellectual property without her consent. Kindly do the needful or i will see y’all in court.”
