The Hip Hop industry in Africa has become very competitive over the last decade, with African Rappers making powerful collaborations, releasing smashing hits, and the impressive varying video qualities.
It is undeniable that African rappers are taking their rightful place in the Global Hip Hop Industry. Rappers who made it to our top 10 African rappers in the 2021 list made the biggest impact in the Hip Hop Industry. LET’S GO!
Eno Barony – Number 10
Eno Barony is a Ghanaian rapper and songwriter. The prolific Hip Hop act bagged her first award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards at its 22nd edition.
Eno Barony won the ‘Best Rap Performance at the awards ceremony beating heavyweights such as Medikal, Strongman, Joey B, and Amerado.

The Afrimma award-winning rapper also released an Album which did well on Hip Hop charts. Eno is the only female on the top 10 African rappers list.
Number 09 – Yaw Tog
Yaw Tog is a Ghanaian rapper who majors in Drill music. He is best known for his viral hit song ‘Sore’ which featured British rapper Stormzy.

The Ghanaian rapper was named the ‘Amplified Artiste Of The Month’ on BET’s platforms.
Number 08 – A-REECE
South African rapper A-REECE though young knows the nature of calamity. His aptly-named mixtape Today’s Tragedy, Tomorrow’s Memory, released on March 26 via Platoon. The work follows his critically acclaimed debut album Paradise,

The rapper won ‘Lyricist of the Year’ at the South Africa Hip Hop Awards.
Number 07 -Kwesi Arthur
Kwesi Arthur is a Ghanaian rapper, singer, and songwriter. He rose to fame in 2017 with his hit single GrindDay which received widespread acclaim and a co-sign from rap heavyweights Sarkodie and Medikal.

His second EP garnered more than 2 million streams on the first day of its release. The Ghanaian rapper has a BET nomination to his name.
Number 06 – Ladipoe
Ladipoe is a fast-rising Nigerian rapper with a BET nomination to his name. On 28 February 2017, Ladipoe signed a record deal with Mavin Records. He takes the number 6 spot on our top 10 African rappers in A.frica list

He rose to prominence with his hit single Feeling in 2021. The rapper earned his first BET nomination that very year.
Number 05 – Casper Nyovest
Casper Nyovest is a South African rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, and record producer. He is regarded as one of the most successful artists in Africa.
In 2014, he established his own record label, Family Tree Records. Casper Nyovest rose to fame with the release of his debut studio album, Tsholofelo.

The South African rapper released one of the biggest albums in South Africa and is currently the Artist of the Decade.
Number 04 – Khaliphraph Jones
Khaligraph Jones is a Kenyan rapper known for his hit singles Khali Cartel, Mazishi, and Wavy. He rose to international prominence after he released his debut full-length studio album Testimony 1990 in 2018.

His hit single Wavy in 2021 solidified his status as one of the very best rappers on the continent. The Kenyan rapper has a BET nomination to his name. Currently the best rapper in Kenya.
Number 03 – M.anifest
On the number 3 spot on our list of the top 10 African rappers in 2022 is M.anifest. Know otherwise as M Dot, is a Ghanaian rapper, singer, and songwriter. He won Best rapper and Hip Hop song of the year at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards.

In 2015 M.anifests single Someway bi earned him a third-place honor in the International Songwriters Competition. in the same year, The Guardian named him as the foremost rapper on the continent.

His hit album Madina To The Universe ranked as the third biggest Hip Hop album on the continent in 2021.
Number 02 – Olamide
Olamide is a Nigerian heavyweight musician who majors in Afrobeats and Hip Hop. The ace rapper has had interviews with Grammys Herbal Tea and White Sofas.

He was named as the biggest Afrobeat musician on Audiomack 2021 and his hit album UY SCUTI

The album ranked as the second most-streamed album on audiomack. Olamide is Nigeria’s biggest rapper at the moment.
Number 01 – Sarkodie
Sarkodie occupies the number 1 spot on our top 10 African rappers list. Sarkodie is a Ghanaian heavyweight rapper and is currently the best rapper on the continent.
His contributions to the African music industry have earned him several BET nominations and two BET awards, putting him ahead of his colleagues.
The Ghanaian rapper has had several performances at the Grammys Museum, making him second to none in the Hip Hop industry.

His hit album No Pressure ranked as the most loved album on the continent as well as the biggest album release in 2021.
From Grammy interviews to CNN and his massive African tours solidified his position as the number one rapper on the continent. His Rapperholic Concert 2021was the biggest sold-out event on the continent.
