Slain MP’s Wife Files Nomination Papers At EC to Replace Husband


Following the untimely demise of her husband who before his death was the MP for Mfantseman, Ophelia Mensah Hayford, the wife of the deceased has filed her nomination at the office of the electoral commission in replacement of her husband in the coming December polls.

Speaking to journalists after filing her nomination papers, Ophelia Mensah Hayford stated clearly that she is shocked by the support she has received since the demise of Ekow Quansah Hayford and this had prevented her from being in tears and when elected on December 7, she will willingly and happily continue the good works her late husband started and couldn’t complete.

She was accompanied by Ophelia Hayford to the EC office include Mavis Hawa Koomson, the MP for Awutu Senya East, and Alhaji Gibrine Adams, the Mfantseman NPP constituency chairman.

From her mouth she said ,“I have seen that I have brave men behind me. Therefore, I urge you all that we should unite and protect the Mfantseman constituency, for, whatever Ekow Quansah Hayford did, we shall continue and victory shall be our.”

She then thanked thanked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the entire NPP for having in her a huge amount of confidence and has giving her the go ahead to represent the people of Mfantseman.
