Popular Ghanaian dancehall artist and controversial figure, Shatta Wale has been granted bail by the Accra High Court.
Recall that Nana Doe, Shatta Wale’s personal assistant, posted on social that the artist was brought to the hospital after being shot in East Legon that caused fear and panic in the country.
Shatta Wale’s lawyers battled for his release on bail, relying on his celebrity and reputation to persuade the court. They claimed that Shatta Wale is not a danger to the public and that he will not flee Ghana.
Shatta Wale, along with his three other coworkers, including his personal assistant who broke the news, was given bail. Bail was also granted to Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Idris Yussif, and Eric Venator.
A GH100,000 bail with surety has been granted to the musician and his companions. The case has been rescheduled for November 9th.
Wale and his associates were arrested a few days ago after spreading bogus information on social media about his gunshots as a joke.
