According to the presidency of Ghana, Auditor-General Domelevo’s leave period has been extended from 123 to 167 days.
President Akufo-Addo extends the Auditor-General’s leave period from 123 to 167 days after Auditor-General Daniel Yaw Domelevo requested to the presidency to reconsider this directive.
In a reaction from Secretary to the President, Nana Asante Bediatuo, the move was attempted with regards to the year 2020 which was prohibited from the prior mandate which just spread over 2017 to 2019.
The Secretary to the President said;
“We noted that the said letter dated is dated 3rd July 2020, with an official reference number from the office of the Auditor-General, although you commenced your leave on 1st July 2020.”
The Presidency explained that;
“If, however you have decided to include your annual leave of for the year 2020, then it is expected that you will resume work after a well-deserved leave of 167 working days, with effect from 1st July 2020.”
