President Buhari’s Personal bodyguard Confirmed Dead Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

Report reaching‘s desk has it that the personal bodyguard of Nigerian president, President Buhari has been confirmed dead.

He reportedly died after he battled with diabetes for three years. The bodyguard identified as Warrant Officer Lawal Mato passed away on Tuesday.


This was confirmed in a statement released by Presidential aide, Femi Adesina. In the statement, President Buhari described the officer, who had been working with him for many years before he won the 2015 elections, as “very thorough, trustworthy and dependable soldier who carried out his duty with diligence and focus.’’

President Buhari also prayed that Allah will ease his passage to paradise and grant his family, government and people of Jigawa State, the fortitude to bear the loss.
