UPDATE: How The Policewoman Was Shot By A Military Officer In Tema REVEALED


Some hours ago, we made a report about a policewoman was shot while on duty by a military officer in Tema.

An update on the matter reveals how the incident happened and this was revealed in by Ghana Police Service has released a statement to address the situation.

The Ghana Police Service gave details of how the policewoman identified as Lance Corporal Francisca Tengey was shot by a military officer during lockdown duties.

The soldier’s name was given as Able Seaman 1 (AB1) Oppong Bekoe of the Naval Headquarters, Burma Camp.

As we speak, the victim has been discharged from the hospital. This was revealed in a statement by the Ghana Police Service said the policewoman has been treated and discharged.

The statement reads;

Tema Shooting Incident

The Tema Regional Police Command is investigating a case involving the alleged accidental shooting of the right lower thigh of a security personnel by a colleague personnel on Thursday April 9 2020at about 0600 hours.

Both personnel were performing operation covid safety duties at Tema Newtown.

The personnel who was injured was rushed to the Tema General Hospital, where she was treated and discharged.

The personnel who allegedly fired the shot has been cautioned and released to his unit commander, pending further investigation.

The public is to remain calm, as investigations into the matter is ongoing.
