Cordelia Ama Selormey is the mother of Michael Kofi Asiamah, a 13-year-old brain tumour patient who sadly died shortly after surgery some few weeks ago.
Prior to his surgery, social media was awashed with his flyers where people were soliciting funds in order to help him under the medical treatment
Sarkodie, when Michael’s situation came to his notice donated $10,000 representing over 30 per cent of the total money ($30,000) needed for the surgery into a GoFundme account.
This motivated others to also contribute towards his eventual recovery but unfortunately, when everybody thought Michael has battled death and come out unscathed, death had laid its icy hands on the young chap.
Well, Michael Kofi Asiamah per regular update by his mother underwent two successful surgeries at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra and came out unscathed. Little did his mother know that her son was on a final journey out of this world.
But narrating the experience she went through together with her son in an exclusive interview with Citi FM, Cordelia said the system at the Korle Bu hospital led to the death of her son.
“I had absolute confidence in the doctors at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. The doctors did not let us down, but the system did”.
Michael Kofi Asiamah died on April 9, 2021, and was buried on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Listen To Cordelia’s narration below:
