President Muhammadu Buhari has endorsed the excusal of the Board Chairman of the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), Mr Tonye Jaja.

A letter with this impact, from Dr Dayo Akpat (SAN), the Solicitor-General, dated Oct.15, 2020 said Jaja’s evacuation was with quick impact. He was coordinated to handover the property of the commission to the Director-General, John Asien.

“Wishing you accomplishment in your future undertakings. If it’s not too much trouble acknowledge the affirmations of caution respects and best respects,” the letter peruses. No explanation was given for the evacuation.

in a letter of guidance, routed to the unmistakable Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Jaja said the endeavored evacuation isn’t in consistence with the Copyright Act, 1999 and other significant Rules and Regulations.

Besides, he said he was never educated regarding perpetrating any wrongdoing to warrant his evacuation.
