The MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon Lydia Alhassan has ridiculed the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, John Dumelo in a recent interview.
John Dumelo, the would-be MP who also doubles as an actor, is contesting the seat to become the member of the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency which is presently being occupied by the NPP’s lydia Alhassa.
Lydia Alhassan became the MP after the death of her husband. She won the bye-election that was held upon the demise of her husband, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko.
December is approaching, the month slated for the december general elections. Hon.Lydia therefore stabs her political rival with her words.
Through her lips, she believes is no near good an option to lead the people of Ayawaso West Wuogon because his believe is miles away from intellectualism.
She then proceeds further to make the claim that her constituency has has 5 tertiary institutions and a number of Senior and Junior High Schools and she believes if the mandate is giving to John Dumelo it would be a disaster considering the nature of the people of Ayawaso West Wuogon . she believes giving the mandate to the young man will bring the constituency’s development to a halt.
After the demise of her husband, the MP contested and won the seat her husband occupied in 2019 when the bye-election was held.
She won the bye-election with 68.80% of the valid votes cast while the other candidates, Kwasi Delali Brempong of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) polled 30.52 %, William Kofi Dowokpor of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and Clement Boadi of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) polled 0.58 and 0.10 % orderly.
