Arsenal have been out of the spotlight for so many years as a result of missing out on Champions League football as well as their inability to win the Premier League or the Champions League for several years.
The worrying narrative started under the latter stages of the reign of Arsene Wenger, a man who brought so much success to the club.
With a lack of activity in the transfer market coupled with a few mismanagements by the board which saw the Arsenal losing out on some of their good players, Wenger failed to deliver success in the latter stages of his reign.
The club failed to change that narrative under Unai Emery but it appears that there is a sense of optimism that they are heading back to the top under Mikel Arteta.
The manager who played under Arsene Wenger since his appointment last year has won two trophies including the FA cup in which he defeated Chelsea for it and the Community Shield in which he saw his team edging out Liverpool on penalties.
Luckily for Arteta, he has been backed massively in the transfer market this summer as he has been able to bring in high profile players to help his cause of rebuilding the club.
The first of those signings is Dani Ceballos who has returned on loan from Real Madrid for a second consecutive season after having an impressive first season with the Gunners.
Arsenal have also secured the services of Lille defender Magalhães while they also snatched former Chelsea winger Willian on a three-year deal.
The most exciting one perhaps is the arrival of Ghanaian and former Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey who joined Arsenal on the deadline of the transfer window.
It is fair to say that Arteta now has all the needed ingredients for Arsenal and the onus now lies on him to deliver the results and bring the team back to where they belong.
