“I Have Decided To Play For England, But I Could Possibly Play For Ghana In The Future” – Chelsea Forward, Callum Hudson-Odoi Opens Up

Chelsea forward, Callum Hudson-Odoi, believes, although he has pledged to play for England, he could play for Ghana in the future.

The Ghanaian-born English player has played three times for the Three Lions of England and per the FIFA rules, he is eligible to switch camps and play for the Black Stars of Ghana.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, 20 has been in Ghana for his summer break from club football since he was not able to make it into England’s squad for the Euro 2020.

Addressing issues concerning whether he would love to play for the Black Stars or not at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Sunday, Callum Hudson-Odoi explained why he decided to play for the English team by saying:

“I think obviously when you’re young, you have the opportunity to play for England throughout all the years, from under 15 to under 16 all the way up. When they obviously gave me the opportunity to come, I was in the country already. It’s something that I already had in my mind, set on already playing for England.”

Speaking about his chances of playing for Ghana or better still switch to represent the Red, Gold, Green, Callum did not make a definite statement by said he hopes so since he can’t determine what the future holds for him.

“So it was the thing obviously choosing Ghana or England, and at the end of the day, I said I always had the right people around me who always advise me – what’s right, what’s wrong. England came, and I said yeah, let me go and play for my country. But I said Ghana is my home as well, so we’ll see, we’ll see. You’ll never know, so,” he said whilst giggling.
