The MP for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam, Mr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has iterated the statement of the Former president Mahama by asking for a presidential debate between the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama and President Akufo-Addo.
Earlier this year,Former President Mahama threw a challenge to the president by asking him to present himself for a debate ahead of the December 7 elections but President Akufo-Addo paid a death ear to it. And had always uttered the words “A debate isn’t necessary”.
In relation to the just ended campaign of the NDC which lasted for five days,Mr.ato forson during his address to the chiefs and people of Ajumako in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam constituency on Saturday in the Central Region made mention of a debate between the leaders of the two prominent political fractions will be best since it will make known to the enfranchised citizens the policies of the parties. In this regard the electorate will be able to easily chose the better of the two on the day of election . Either giving the president “four more to do more” or give the mantle to the former president.
He again made mention of the Akufo-Addo government borrowing GH¢152 billion since they took over from the previous government and it can be foreseen that by the end of the year 2020, the national debt will hit GH¢180 billion under the governance of the president.
He again made mention of the Akufo-Addo government borrowing GH¢152 billion since they took over from the previous government. He said i can be foreseen that by the end of the year 2020, the national debt will hit GH¢180 billion under the governance of the president.
With the wind blowing from the same direction on the part of the MP, He said the government has also generated revenue internally which amount to GH¢ 367 billion.According to the MP, despite the huge revenue made by the government, the Akufo-Ado administration has very few development projects to their name. He claims that in spite of receiving less resources than the present government, the Mahama administration received less resources in comparison to the present government but still did a tremendous job . The former president’s work such as roads, hospitals, water and electrification projects, among others, all over the country is something worth writing home about. The MP claims.
The NDC’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama made it clear that the great master of time has betrayed the lies and deception of the NPP in exploiting the people of Ghana and with the truth now been crystal clear, it is his fervent hope that Ghanaians will kick out the NPP and give power to the NDC for a better Ghana come December without regret.
Without stopping, The MP,Mr. Cassiel Ato Forson then noted that it is his urgent plea to the President to accept the duel by the former president to come for a debate so that he can properly account for all the money he had borrowed and the internal revenue generated.
