Bishop Obinim is still in police custody after failing to meet his bail conditions according to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ms Juliana Obeng who happens to be the Head of the Public Affairs Unit of CID.
This comes after reports circulating suggested that Bishop Obinim has been granted bail to the tune of GHC 100,000.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, has charged Obinim with the offences of publication of false news and forgery of document contrary to sections 208 and 159 of the Criminal and other offences Act, (1960) (ACT 29) respectively.
He was subsequently sent to the Magistrate Court Accra and has been granted bail in the sum of GHS100,000 with three sureties.
However, he is still in the grips of the police after failing to meet the conditions and DSP Juliana Obeng in an interview with Kumasi-based Hello FM on Wednesday morning said;
‘’Obinim has failed to meet the bail conditions so until he meets the conditions, he will continue to the police custody.”
