Ban On Sporting Activities Lifted In Ghana


Bans were placed on sporting activities including football, during the corona virus period in Ghana by President Akufo Addo. These restrictions were imposed in March to control spread of the virus.

Based on the drastic decrease in the COVID 19 cases, the president has removed the ban on contact sports including football. Active COVID 19 cases in Ghana is 507 with nearly 300 confirmed deaths.

There is the need for our National teams to prepare towards international competitions while the COVID 19 has slowed down. The President explained.

On October 30, the Ghana Premier League and the Division One League will be coming on.

However, all the COVID 19 safety protocols will be adhered to.

The players, their technical team and the management staff will undergo constant COVID 19 testing.
Only a few of spectators will be allowed in match venues. Wearing of the nose mask is mandatory. Spectators are not to be allowed at the training facilities of the players.

All these safety measures have been put in place to ensure a COVID 19 free footballing.
