A Narcotic Journalist Drug Supplier Arrested.


Augustus Akwasi Koranteng, a journalist has been arrested by the police for unlawful possession of narcotic drugs at Agona Swedru in Central Region.

Investigations showed that Akwasi Koranteng was a supplier of the narcotic drugs.

The police in their investigations posed as a client who wanted to purchase some of the narcotic drugs from the supplier.

Akwasi Koranteng was arrested at a meeting which was arranged for him to deliver some of the drugs to the client.

He was found in possession of 28 balls of plant materials, 7 sachet containing dried plant materials and 5 and a half compressed slaps of dried plant materials. All these substances were suspected to be Indian hemp.

A search was conducted in his room, and the remaining of the drugs was found in his fridge.

He was brought before the Swedru Circuit Court where he was granted bail of Ghc50, 000.00. His passport has been deposited at the Court registry to prevent him from travelling to escape trial
