The presidential candidate of Ghana’s biggest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama’s petition to the supreme court over the 2020 presidential results will begin tomorrow, Thursday 14th January 2021.
Former President John Dramani Mahama in his petition to the Supreme court is seeking a run-off between Akufo Addo led NPP and the NDC.
According to him, the 2020 presidential results were padded in favor of H.E Nana Akufo Addo of which both leading parties didn’t attain the constituted 50% plus 1 vote.
Meanwhile, the former president after filing the petition has filed a motion to amend the mistake in the petition.
The mistake is a result of John Mahama seeking a run-off between the NDC and the electoral commission instead of the second respondent which is Nana Akufo Addo.
